1845 - Grrr. I am annoyed that I'm so busy I can't even drop in here to say hello. I did just get Jerry's mailbag for the month formatted and posted. I'm flailing about getting as far ahead of the game as possible before 4 days of LISA next week. Back to the grind, ciao!

2051 - Progress is. Pending review before submission, I've unexpectedy just finished the next assignment in my Computer Architecture course. Now all that remains between now and Saturday night is a day of work, a day of house cleaning, and writing the first draft of my third paper for bonehead engrish. Supper was one of those heat-n-eat pasta meals from Bertolli, but with cracked black pepper and very freshly grated parmesan cheese liberally applied thereupon. Yum-oh! Maybe I'll relax for the balance of this evening... Ciao!

1854 - Whoops! I even had a bit of spare time last night, since I finished the draft of my third writing project for bonehead before 8 PM. But I booted into Windows 7 and popped into D & D Online for a bit of free slayage. Today, started moving on the house-cleaning project just before 10. Finished a few minutes ago, having had a small shopping break in the middle, since tomorrow's spoken for. Soon I'm going to have to figure out what's for supper. Ciao!

1940 - Happy first of November. October certainly went out like a sea lion: we had over 5 inches of rain in the last 10 days of the month. Yow! Today's LISA '09 training session was Æleen Frisch on the subject of Administering Linux in Production Environments. She really knows her stuff. Yah, well, along with her corporate cred, three editions of Essential System Administration from O'Reilly ought to speak well, too. Three more full days of training await.

Holy Cow! What a bad freaking week to have been an American in Afghanistan! My heart sank lower with each of the twenty nine lives of fine defenders of America that I transcribed this week from the DoD site. It hasn't been this bad in a long, long time. Our condolences to the families and units of the fallen.

Visit the rest of the DAYNOTES GANG, a collection of bright minds and sharp wits. Really, I don't know why they tolerate me <grin>. My personal inspiration for these pages is Dr. Jerry Pournelle. I am also indebted to Bob Thompson and Tom Syroid for their patience, guidance and feedback. Of course, I am sustained by and beholden to my lovely wife, Marcia. You can find her online too, at http://www.dutchgirl.net/. Thanks for dropping by.
