Long Arm Quilting Machine

For sale ... Sold! Most of Marcia's sewing machines had designated recipients in her list of bequests. Linda Rose and her sister Mary got whatever they wanted, and took home two machines and a bunch of fabric and batting and whatnot. Kayla and her friend got a bunch of fabrics, a couple of quilt kits, and the serger.

More problematic was the Handiquilter long arm machine, along with its computer, and 13' x 5' frame. Important to me is that it finds a home with someone who will use and love it, but for whom the new gear was out of reach. An equivalent new setup today from Handiquilter runs about $35-40K. Marcia's older, gently used and well maintained setup I could find equivalently online for $10-$20K.

I set a firm ask of the low end of that, and put the word out to local quilters ... and found a taker. The deal isn't done yet, but barring misfortune it'll happen over the next couple of weeks. I throw in all of Marcia's accumulated thread, six cabinets and two wire bakers racks (for holding fabric), and as much of the fabric as she wants.

Weather

This weekend the temps fluctuated between 33 and 40° F, and last night we had rain, then sleet, then a bit of ice. Today is treacherous out. But Georgia and I got out and went over to Nancy's to let the dogs visit for a bit, and for me to do a bit of computer work for Nancy. No problems.

Next weekend promises between 13 and 17 inches of snow, Friday through Sunday. We'll see if that materializes.
