Finding my way
For all of you that found the words and the time to write or call, (and for those of you who could not, for whatever reason, that's okay, too - I've always struggled with other people's grief), thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's been a little over a month since I lost Marcia ... and we're, well, we're getting along.
I'm not getting stuck staring into space quite as often, although today was one of those days. I'm not skipping chores, or meals, or showers ... all the things are getting done. Not as efficiently as I might, normally, but I give myself grace to do things at the pace that life permits me right now.
Georgia has mostly stopped roaming the house looking for Marcia, especially after we come home from walks. So we're both finding our way to a new normal. Because we're out of the house for a long walk each day, we're always seeing friends and neighbors, which is another good thing.
In the last week, I've had LindaRose up from Maryland to visit and help clean up and take a car full of quilting-related fabric and machines off my hands (she had first dibbs on that stuff, per Marcia's list of bequests). Marcia's local friend Brenda came over, too, helping out and taking some things to quilt. Then over the weekend, more friends of ours came over to shop in the fabric store that Marcia left behind. My only ask was that they make things with what they got, and to keep Marcia in their hearts.
Real snow
Not lots more snow, just a couple of inches, fell on the 12th, here.

Winter itself can't be far behind. Most of our walks in the mornings come with a wind chill in the upper 20's / lower 30's (F), so a brisk pace is almost always in order.
