Martin Luther King, Jr. Today we have a national holiday to celebrate his birth, and to remember his words and his deeds on behalf of Civil Rights for African Americans. Today, even with the advent of Trump, the US is a better place than it was in King's time. This should not be taken to mean that there isn't far more work to do.
