Still Winter

Yes, yes, on Monday last we got up into the 60's and it was the first shorts day of the year for walking the dog. But then it started getting colder again, and I was up this morning at 0630 to shovel snow before heading out for the weekly shopping expedition.

Next weekend, more snow, after a few days with overnight lows back into the teens. Sigh.

I'm still working through the grieving process, too. The spikes of severity seem to be slightly less frequent, but I'm still in a predominantly tenebrous space. I find myself across the house (or occasionally across the room) having lost track of what I was going to do next. My level of focus is not what it was. I hope to regain some of that, one day. I expect I will.

On the countdown to retirement - less than 7 weeks remain. I'm doing my best to hand off what I can.

Finally, in the grocery this morning, the soundtrack was Put a Little Love in Your Heart, the original Jackie DeShannon version, I think. It put me in mind, of course, of the Annie Lennox / Al Green cover version used as the ending theme of Scrooged, a movie that warms my heart.

Sorry, Yes, it's Pi Day

3/14 is Pi Day, but I don't really celebrate until the 3PM hour 3.1415... which is accurate enough for most purposes...

No, I'm not going to make a pie today, I have (nearly) the last of the current batch of macaroni and cheese leftovers today, then salmon for tomorrow.
