Condolences
For my brother-in-law, Michael Ellison, who passed last Monday after a short battle with an aggressive cancer, rest in peace. My thoughts are with my sister Barbara and their adult children, Rob and Alex.
Winter Continues
Over the next five days, I'm expecting over a foot of snow. Two big days, Monday and Friday, and two light days, Wednesday and Thursday. So plenty of opportunity exercise through snow shoveling in my near future. Not terribly surprising, since that bloody rodent saw its shadow. Last year, the six extra weeks of winter were 12 extra weeks up here in the northern reaches. I hope that's not the case this year, but who knows.
While winter continues, spring and fishing are coming closer than ever... Ten weeks left in the day job. I just got past my last paid Federal holiday. I'm still trying to take a day a week to burn up outstanding hours (vacation and comp), but not doing so well at that... it's okay. As long as I clear the comp, the vacation hours will pay out with the last paycheck.
Other winter chores:
- I'm continuing to box up the balance of Marcia's fabrics - they'll probably go to a fabric auction run by and benefiting the Salvation Army.
- That task is part of the over-all basement cleanup that I'm slowly doing, trying to figure out the trash/recycle/donate/keep stacks. It is frankly hard emotional work.
