A Busy Saturday

Temperatures got down to -6°F last night, now it's early afternoon, and so far I've:

  • Done the weekly grocery run.
  • Coffee and breakfast consumed.
  • Gone back over to Sharon Ann's and re-tuned the leveling of the longarm frame.
  • Gone (with Georgia) over to Nancy's to help clear space in the garage for a car.
  • Taken Georgia on a walk, 1.5 miles, like leg day at the gym because of snow/ice.
  • Cleaned up the pellet stove a bit.
  • Stocked some more firewood into the basement, and prep'd for the evening fire.

So yeah, a fruitful and productive day so far...

Thirteen Weeks

Yeah, so three months left in this phase of my working life. Right now the thought isn't as freeing as I'd hoped - I worry a bit about how they'll do in my absence... but in the real world, that becomes not my problem, come the end of April.

Not Debilitating, but...

Sadly (and properly sadly), I'm still popping awake with some regularity in the middle of the night, thinking I heard Marcia calling out for help. That's seriously no fun at all.

I'm also trying to enjoy the new Star Trek: Starfleet Academy show, which features some old friends and some new (to Star Trek) faces, like Holly Hunter. While Holly is a joy in her new role, I keep getting derailed thinking of how very much Marcia would have loved the show... then I'm right back in reality, and out of the willing suspension of disbelief that SF shows really demand. But I'm going to watch it, and enjoy it, even though I'd rather Paramount spent the money continuing Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

So instead, I try to watch something British and mindless, like 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, with a bunch of comedians and Jimmy Carr. However much fun the "game" is, there's still the part where it's really a venue for Jimmy to insult people, which was once amusing, and is now less so, for me.
