Finding My Way
Eventually, I expect to find my way. A few different things are going on, but I appear to be mostly afflicted by a weird procrastination. Weird in the sense that since I don't really have a schedule or deadlines for anything, it's easy to put off things that I'm probably interested in getting done, but eh, mañana. Sadly, that has affected my lack of urgency for posting here, too.
There are things I'm actually getting done, like finances, a trust and new will, etc. I'm not having difficulty with the day-to-day stuff of household chores, light maintenance, dog walking, etc.
I'm also slowly still clearing out stuff that was Marcia's - a box of books a week are going to the local Hubbard Free Library, for them to sort and prep for their annual fund-raiser book sale. I need to spend some time going through much of the rest of the basement and main floor for stuff that needs to be allocated to the following categories: keep, garage sale, donate, or trash. I expect that I'll put a lot into the garage sale category, then allocate what's left after that to either donate or trash.
Spring?
We're deep into calendar spring by now, less than a month before summer ... but this last week we had two days in the mid to high 80's (F), then two nights later a low in the mid-30's. And in the long-term forecast, we have another night in the 30's slated for 2 June. #WTF
Ongoing activities
Here are some things I've snapped with the phone camera, and the context for them.
First, as usual with this house, once the tulips and crocuses have started, there's always something in bloom in the yard straight through into fall. Below, Lamprocapnos spectabilis, commonly known as a pink bleeding heart. These are in a bed on the front (west) side of the house, so it's a late starting bed since it doesn't really get much sun until well into spring.

The boat is in the water as of a couple of weeks ago, and I've gone fishing twice. A bald eagle (pictured below) was fishing in front of me, too.

I got out for a few hours a couple of days ago, and found a productive stretch of mixed rock/sandy bottom shoreline with bass coming up to spawn. Nothing big, the largest fish was around 1.5 pounds, but I had fun.

I started a bunch of plants from seed, and they're slowly coming up. I'd like to get them out into the raised beds, but the temperature fluctuations of this season are ... interesting. I've got six tomato varieties, four hot pepper varieties, green beans, and basil started. Also tried for some annual flowers (pictured in the middle) but they haven't come up well.

I've added some fresh garden soil to the raised beds and turned them over in prep for the seedlings, so someday there'll be veggies growing there. In the background you can see the new deck in progress. The old deck was rickety and fragile, it was definitely time to replace it.
