THappy Birthday, Barbara

Today is my sister's birthday, and while I thoughtfully didn't call her early from three time zones ahead, we did chat today, which was nice.

Loss and Lost

While I don't have trouble finding the words to describe my situation, I'm continuing to struggle with the loss. I'm still motivationally challenged, for sure. The things that must  be done are getting done, but not much else is. I still have to finish cleaning out the basement, and move the woodshop gear over, and I guess that will happen whenever it does.

My sleeping patterns are still pretty broken, I'm awake multiple times each night. That said, I had a good stretch of three nights solid, sufficient sleep in a row this last week. A good thing, no?

It's  certainly one of the reasons I'm not posting here much, because I don't want to just show up and whinge about stuff every day.

Other Activities

To be fair, I basically only get out for the weekly shopping, the daily dog walk, and the occasional fishing expedition. But more of the latter than last year, so there's that. Georgia is being a good girl and very supportive.

The garden is doing okay. I over-populated the one bed with tomato plants, expecting multiple failures, but they're all thriving as well as can be expected, given the over-crowding. With luck I'll have some cherry tomatoes to nosh on in the next week or so, and then a big rush of larger tomatoes right before the first freeze. The pepper plants are all producing nicely, and I'm enjoying them a lot.
